Privacy

Privacy comes first

Nirapod is designed to collect as little as possible. A safety tool that hoards personal data is itself a safety risk, so we minimise collection by default.

What we collect

  • Report content: the category, approximate area, approximate date and time, and your description of the reported incident.
  • Optional evidence: only if you choose to attach it. Attachments are reviewed and are not published as-is.
  • Limited technical signals: coarse, hashed request information used only to prevent spam and abuse — never used for profiling or advertising.

What we do not collect

  • Your name or phone number to read the map or file a report.
  • Exact home or workplace addresses.
  • Continuous or background location tracking.
  • Personal information about other people — this is not allowed in reports.

Locations are approximate on purpose

Coordinates attached to a report are rounded and displayed as an area, not a precise point. This keeps individual homes, shops and people from being identifiable from the map.

How your data is handled

Reports are stored on our servers and are only readable publicly after moderation approval. Internal moderation fields — review notes, abuse scores, reviewer identity — are never exposed to visitors.

We do not sell data and do not share reports with advertisers. Aggregate, non-identifying safety statistics may be published or shared with public-interest partners.

Your choices

You may request removal of a report you submitted. Because reports carry no personal identifiers, please keep the reference code shown after submission so we can find it.
